The Movie VS the Book

“Ready Player One” was an amazing novel about virtual reality gaming dominating the world. I was very surprised to see many of the differences between the book and the movie. I feel like they are based on the same concept, but are almost completely different from each other. Aside from some of the characters' names being the same most of the concepts were completely different. I do like how they end the movie vs the book with some nights of the oasis being shut off. I also enjoy in the book how Wade Watts is given superuser access. The movie didn’t do a great portrayal of this. I also missed references to Robotech that were mentioned in the book and not the movie. I feel both the movie and the book shared a similar point of disconnecting from technology more. I am going to spend time fixing my problems in the real world. I will also be connecting with my family and friends in the real world.
